Interview with Igor Kurochkin, VP, Global Vendor Management and Marketing at Winncom

What security elements do you provide in your wired and wireless network solutions?

There is a multitude of security protocols provided by our wireless vendor partners. The appropriate level of security is selected based on the project’s need and the vertical market.

The majority of products in our portfolio provide wireless link security where all the traffic, that is going over the air, gets encoded with strong encryption such as AES256. We have solutions specifically designed for military applications that are certified as FIPS-140-2. For end-to-end security, we provide a variety of Layer2 and IP-based encryption solutions, such as switches with MACSec support and IPSec gateways. We also provide security solutions for specific verticals such as enterprise WiFi Portals for public/enterprise/hospitality solutions, or BNG solutions that take control over and enforce Internet Service Provider subscriber authentication/authorization and accounting.

What strategy do you follow to reach a leading position in the global technology market with your engineering and financial services?

One of the very important tasks for a multinational company is to remain the ability to give a personal approach to each region and each partner and this concept has been our philosophy for the last 25 years. We always learn as much as possible about each region and each country’s unique situation and provide solutions based on these findings. Engineering services have been one of the core values we have been providing to the market as a value-added distributor for many years. Our financial services provide our partners with a multitude of options based on their needs as well as company and project specifics.

What are the points that sets Winncom apart from other companies in the sector in the global arena? 

I could talk for a long time about our value-add services, personal approach to each project, and deep technical knowledge of all current technologies, but I think the main difference is people. We have amazing teams in all our markets. People that are passionate about our industry, our partners, and their projects. With sales teams dedicated to all regions around the globe and with over 60 highly experienced engineers we truly can make a difference.

In closing, what would you like to add?

I am really excited to have the opportunity to increase our business in the Turkish market. Winncom started operating in Turkey in 2016, but this year it expands its activity and puts emphasis on increasing the competency and scope of its services. Sales, support, engineering services, and a local warehouse.  Our Turkish clients will have the benefit of sales and engineering staff that speak their language, and are local to the area, with no delay. I believe Turkey is going to be one of the most important markets on Winncom’s map.
